About Lift Me Up!
Founded in 1975, Lift Me Up! is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit PATH International Premier Accredited Center serving the Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, communities. Our herd, staff, and volunteers bring healing and joy to people age 5 to 70+ who are living with physical, intellectual, or emotional challenges.
Our PATH-certified instructors provide approximately 6,500 session hours for more than 1,000 therapeutic riders and wellness participants annually.
We are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, including first responders and others with PTSD, youth living with depression or self-harming behaviors, and residents of senior living communities. We are additionally committed to providing kind and compassionate care for more than one dozen horses at our two Great Falls, Virginia barn facilities.
Lift Me Up! relies on community, corporate, and foundation support to bridge the gap between program revenue and horse and property maintenance expenses. This enables us to keep lesson costs affordable for more individuals in our region.
Our collective 14 acres at our two barns also help maintain the rural feel of Great Falls with a positive impact on the ecosystem. Come and see for yourself!
